FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Straight answers from real dispatchers. No runaround.

What does a dispatch broker actually do?

We act as your agent in the freight market. We search load boards, contact brokers, negotiate rates, handle paperwork, and support you on the road — so you can focus on driving. You remain in full control of which loads you accept and when you run.

How much do you charge?

We charge 5–10% of the gross load pay, depending on your volume and equipment type. There are no monthly fees, no setup costs, and no hidden deductions. You see every rate confirmation before we accept any load on your behalf.

Am I forced to take loads?

Never. We present options, you decide. No penalties, no pressure, no contract clauses punishing you for saying no. We work to find you loads that fit your schedule and preferences — not the other way around.

What equipment types do you dispatch?

Dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, RGN/lowboy, power only, tanker, and box truck. If you have a specialty trailer or a specific commodity type, let us know — we've dispatched most of it.

Do I need my own authority?

You can dispatch under your own MC authority or as a leased carrier on someone else's authority. Both work. We just need your MC number (or the carrier's), valid CDL, and active cargo insurance.

How long are your contracts?

Month-to-month. We don't believe in locking drivers into long agreements. If you're not getting value, you should be free to leave. Give us 30 days' notice and we'll part ways professionally.

How fast will you find me my first load?

After your carrier agreement is signed and we have your insurance certificate and authority docs, most drivers receive their first load offer within 24 hours. Often same day.

What states do you cover?

All 48 contiguous states. We have strong lane relationships in the Southeast, Appalachian corridor, Midwest, and Gulf Coast — but we dispatch nationwide.

How do you vet your carriers?

Every carrier in our network goes through a safety score review, active insurance verification, authority check, and operating history review before we dispatch them. We re-verify insurance certificates regularly and monitor CSA scores.

How quickly can you find capacity?

For standard dry van and reefer, we typically cover freight within 2–4 hours. Specialty equipment (flatbed, step deck, heavy haul) may take 4–24 hours depending on location and timing. Contact us with your load details and we'll give you an honest estimate.

Are you a licensed broker?

Yes. Mountain City Well Drilling LLC operates as a licensed and bonded freight broker under FMCSA regulations. We maintain the required surety bond and operating authority required for all brokerage operations.

What documentation do you provide?

For every load: rate confirmation, carrier insurance certificate, BOL copy, and POD upon delivery. Full audit trail available on request.

Do you do dedicated contract lanes?

Yes. If you have consistent freight volumes on specific lanes, we can discuss dedicated carrier agreements that provide predictable capacity and pricing. Contact us to discuss your volume and requirements.

Still Have Questions?
